Women of Science

As a major research university in New Jersey, Rutgers University-Newark has made significant contributions to scientific knowledge in all disciplines. Much of that knowledge has been created through the research of eminent female scholars such as neuroscientist Joan Morrell (above). Many of the early female scientists had to overcome discrimination and stereotypes along the way, paving the way for today’s women in science at Rutgers University-Newark.
