A Stellar Education Within Reach

We eagerly embrace the challenge to think and act in ways that cut across traditional boundaries, fully recognizing that high-impact anchor work at Rutgers Newark demands innovative solutions to create access to higher education for everyone.

A Level Playing Field

At Rutgers-Newark, we seek out untapped talent. This is a place where everyone —even students who don’t consider themselves “college material” —can flourish academically. We’ll meet you where you are with everything from deep mentoring and drop-in counseling, to courses that challenge you to reach higher.

Centered on Your Success

Generations of students from all backgrounds have made Rutgers-Newark the engine of transformation it is today. We’re here for you with innovative programs that raise up our entire community.

Rutgers Business Pre-College Programs

We’re promoting diversity in business education with support for Newark-area high school students to explore the business world and navigate the transition to college life.

Newark City of Learning Collaborative

From college readiness programs to summer internships for teens, we’re working to boost the number of Newark residents who earn college degrees.

NJ-STEP

As part of this statewide consortium, we provide courses to people who are incarcerated and assist in their transition to college life upon their release.

Center for PreCollege Programs

The Center for PreCollege Programs serves more than 2,000 students and parents annually by facilitating various programs throughout Newark, East Orange, Orange, Irvington, and the greater Essex County area.
