Rutgers - Newark’s virtual commencement will air on Sunday, May 16 at 6 p.m.!
In response to student requests that commencement for Spring 2021 be held on a weekend to maximize the opportunity for small family viewing parties and broad remote participation,
Rutgers-Newark’s virtual commencement will air on Sunday, May 16 at 6 p.m.! Mark your calendars and invite family and friends! No worries if your plans don’t include viewing at that time because commencement will remain available for viewing online afterward for at least one year.
Students who wish to have their own regalia for that celebration and for other pre-commencement activities being planned for this graduation season must place their orders with the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at Rutgers-Newark by Friday, April 9, 2021. The bookstore provides regalia through its partner Oak Hall. The website for purchasing Rutgers-Newark regalia is: https://runewark.shopoakhalli.com
It is important to note that all regalia orders will ship directly to the student. The bookstore will not have regalia in-store. (Also note: Rutgers-Camden and Rutgers-New Brunswick have their own dedicated websites for ordering regalia.) For information about regalia, class rings, graduation announcements, or related questions, students should reach out to Victor Harris, Barnes & Noble bookstore manager, at email@example.com or (973) 353-2200.
We continue to develop engaging Salute Week celebrations for May 2021 in consultation with a student committee and input from across Rutgers-Newark. While details will be finalized in the coming days, we know that among the activities will be opportunities to pose for photographs in regalia at a designated site on campus, while assuring observation of appropriate health and safety guidelines.
For those who do not wish to purchase their own regalia, there will be regalia on hand at the photo site (at no cost) that can be worn for photos.
We will be back in touch again soon regarding details about commencement, as well as the Salute Week schedule including more in-person activities suggested by students (again, assuring observation of appropriate health and safety guidelines). Meanwhile, we hope you everyone is as excited as we are to celebrate our graduates!
