  • The Camões Institute Center for Portuguese Language and Culture, directed by the resident IC Leitor, is open to the Rutgers community of faculty and students as well as to the general public. In addition to housing over 2000 volumes of Portuguese literature, history, criticism and other scholarly publications.

  • The Center for Applied Appreciative Inquiry (CAAI) at Rutgers University-Newark School of Public Affairs and Administration assists community organizations and groups with strategic planning, reorganization, and community engagement initiatives toward facilitating positive change. Through the use of positively constructed questions and a structured dialogue process, Appreciative Inquiry (Ai) seeks to discover the conditions, factors, and strengths that contribute to success and how they can be replicated to create new possibilities for greater future success. The center has provided technical assistance to colleges and universities, nonprofit and public sector organizations.

  • The Rutgers Center for Corporate Law and Governance Purpose and Mission:

    To be recognized as the preeminent resource for corporate law and governance issues for New Jersey’s legal, business and nonprofit communities.

    To serve as a home and base of operations for faculty teaching corporate law, business law and corporate governance subjects.

    To develop a practical approach to corporate law and governance issues, focusing on both common themes and industry-specific issues in promoting best corporate practices and law reform.

  • CEBPA sponsors research, speakers, workshops, visiting scholars, and other activities that help develop theory and methodology in experimental and behavioral public administration. The center houses two online research panels, one a voluntary sample of citizens (CivicPanel) and the other a voluntary sample of public and nonprofit managers (Public Service Research Panel). CEBPA helped found the Journal of Behavioral Public Administration (JBPA), which is an interdisciplinary, open access, peer-reviewed journal that focuses on behavioral and experimental research in public administration. In 2020, JBPA became independent of CEBPA.

  • The Rutgers Center for Gender, Sexuality, Law and Policy (CGSLP) examines questions of social inequality from multi-disciplinary and intersectional standpoints, attending to inequality based on gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, economic status, and a range of social factors domestically and transnationally. Convening students, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, alumni, and other leaders, CGSLP facilitates research, education, opportunity, leadership, and programming initiatives.

  • The purpose of the Center for Health Equity and Community Engagement (CHECE) is to build upon proven effective community engagement strategies developed by Rutgers University–Newark's Office of University-Community Partnerships (OUCP) and the scholarship and knowledge-based services that are the hallmarks of the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA).

    The center's mission is to support public, nonprofit, and private sector entities to effectively engage underrepresented urban constituencies in health research, scholarship, policy and decision-making, service delivery, community engagement, and assessment.

  • The Center for Immigration Law, Policy and Justice (CILPJ) at Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey explores contemporary and historical immigration and citizenship laws to better understand the complex ways that law and society determine who belongs in the United States. The CILPJ employs interdisciplinary scholarship, legal, policy and advocacy initiatives, and public engagement to examine the adoption of equitable and just immigration and citizenship laws.
