Constitutional Law Professor Frank Askin, Professor Paul Tractenberg, a leader in New Jersey education, and Peter Simmons, professor and former dean of Rutgers Law School, will be honored on April 20 with Distinguished Service Awards by the Rutgers Law School Alumni Association.

The three professors are retiring from Rutgers Law School this school year.

The program begins at 5 p.m. on the third-floor atrium and will be followed by a cocktail reception.

“Professors Askin, Simmons and Tractenberg are giants in their field. They have spent their careers enhancing the education of countless students, improving the lives of those in our communities, and advancing the profile of Rutgers School of Law in Newark. It is only fitting that as they prepare to retire, we honor their contributions to the law school,” said Robert Ratish, alumni association president.

Askin is a Distinguished Professor of Law, Robert E. Knowlton Scholar and Director of the Constitutional Rights Clinic; Simmons is a university professor, former dean and John M. Payne Scholar; and Tractenberg is a Board of Governors Distinguished Service Professor, and Alfred C. Clapp Distinguished Public Service Professor of Law.
