Dear Rutgers University – Newark community members,
The weather update message you received earlier today, Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 1:00pm, from the university’s Interim COO, indicates that the university remains OPEN. We will continue to closely monitor the winter weather and work closely with state and local authorities. We want to share specific updates regarding campus operations for Rutgers-Newark for Sunday, February 22, 2026 & Monday, February 23, 2026.   Courses:
Courses normally delivered face-to-face will pivot to remote.
Faculty should communicate with students through university email and/or the learning management system about alternate arrangements.
Campus Events:
All on-campus events for Monday are cancelled 
Campus Building & Dining Information:
Dana Library will operate remotely on Monday. Instruction and research support will pivot to fully remote. Online resources and services for the library will continue to be available.  Visit Dana Library website for information.
Stonsby Commons Dining Hall will maintain normal operating hours; All other dining operations will be closed.
The Paul Robeson Campus Center will be closed, including retails spaces like Starbucks. 
The Golden Dome Athletic Center will be closed.
All buildings on campus will be closed; access limited to those with proper ID authorization.
Pantry+ emergency food packs are available 24/7 at the Rutgers University Police Department (200 University Avenue). A map for additional locations is available here- please check before visiting.
Administrative & Student Services Offices: 
Rutgers-Newark Administrative and Student Services offices will be operating remotely during regular business hours.
IT Support:
IT Help Desk can be accessed virtually or by calling 833.OIT.HELP (833.648.4357).
The Academic Technology Help Desk can be accessed online or by calling 833.OIT.HELP (833.648.4357).
Parking:
If you are parked on the street, please relocate your vehicle to a university deck to allow for snow operations and avoid being plowed in. VEHICLES SHOULD NOT REMAIN IN SURFACE LOTS.
Parking will be available starting Saturday, February 21 @ 9pm through Monday, February 23 @ 9:00 PM in Parking Decks 1–4 . For safety, the top level of each deck is closed, do NOT cross the chains or barriers.
