Rutgers Law School alumna Jing Kong, who graduated this year, is one of many alums who plans on returning to RU-N on Oct. 25 for Rutgers-Newark's first homecoming event in more than a decade.
It will be a day of community and school spirit featuring food, family fun, music, dance, a Biergarten serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, and a soccer game pitting the Scarlet Raiders against NJCU's Gothic Knights. To register and learn more go here.
In the days leading up to homecoming, we'll be featuring alums.
Kong is a patent attorney who chose a career in law to continue her passion for science and technology and to serve the public by protecting and promoting innovations.

Hometown: Changchun
Best Memory: One of my most meaningful memories at Rutgers was serving as a 3L career advisor at the Center of Career Development. I loved being able to support fellow law students by sharing insights and strategies from my own experiences.
Friendship Formed: I’m incredibly grateful for my brilliant study partner, Emma Enright, who was a tremendous support—especially during the first trimester of my third pregnancy in my 2L year.
Favorite Class: Patent Law. Professor Safrin had a gift for turning complex legal concepts into something not only understandable, but genuinely enjoyable.
Why I Love RU-N: I felt truly seen and supported throughout my time here. RU-N gave me a sense of belonging that meant the world to me.
