Friday, March 6: Celebrating National Employee Appreciation Day

Rutgers-Newark Staff,

Friday, March 6 is National Employee Appreciation Day. I, along with the Provost, Vice Chancellors, and Deans, extend our greatest gratitude and thanks to you, the Rutgers-Newark staff and faculty, for your ongoing contributions.

Thank you for your commitment to Rutgers University – Newark. Your remarkable talent and dedication continue to make a difference in the lives of our students as we move our mission forward. I learned about the Scarlet Raider passion during my interview last spring and have come to understand the unyielding depth of the Scarlet Raider passion over the past nine months.

This academic year, I have been fortunate to meet and hear from many of you. In the near future, I will share our findings and next steps based on the listening sessions as well as information about our RU-N Roadmap/strategic plan process.

You have been generous about sharing your stories and experiences. Each interaction and shared story affirms that Curtis and I made the best decision in becoming a part of the Scarlet Raider family.

We want to invite each of you to mark the importance of this day by joining the Rutgers-Newark Staff Council and the Office of Human Resources-Newark as they celebrate you and National Employee Appreciation Day with lunch at Stonsby Commons from 11am-2pm; remember to bring your Rutgers ID.

With Scarlet Raider Pride,

Tonya Smith-Jackson, PhD, CPE

Chancellor
