Mary Philbrook Public Interest Awards

The Mary Philbrook Public Interest Award is given each fall at a gala celebration in Camden in recognition of Mary Philbrook, the first woman admitted to the New Jersey Bar.
Sponsored by the Women’s Law Caucus, the Association for Public Interest Law, the Rutgers Law–Camden Alumni Association, the Burlington County Bar Association, and the Camden County Bar Association, the Mary Philbrook Public Interest Award celebration is a tradition at Rutgers Law School's Camden location that began in 1986. This year's award will honor Irv Ackelsberg, a 1976 graduate of Rutgers Law School who has had a distinguished career in public interest law as a consumer rights advocate.
