Information for the International Community

Every year Rutgers University, Newark, hosts more than 700 undergraduate and graduate students and scholars from more than 100 countries. Given the diversity of our campus, we are committed to ensuring the integration of international students, scholars and families into the life of R-N and the city of Newark and promoting cross-cultural awareness throughout the R-N community.
In particular, our Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISS) provides a variety of services to our diverse array of international students and scholars and to our academic departments. In addition to building a home-away-from-home environment, OISS helps international students and scholars maintain legal status while pursuing their education and research goals, ensures Rutgers-Newark complies with federal immigration regulations governing enrollment of F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors, and assists academic departments with their international initiatives.
We invite you to explore our website and discover the many programs we offer our students from abroad.
