Choosing Hope: Moving Forward from Life’s Darkest Hours

Rutgers Journalism Professor Robin Gaby Fisher’s  newest book is the story of the first-grade teacher who saved her entire class from the school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.  Choosing Hope (G.P. Putnam’s Sons, October 2016) is both a first-hand report of a terrible tragedy and a story of courage, faith and resilience. It is also a celebration of the parents, mentors and teachers who choose to pass along their hope and positive attitudes to young people.  Former U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords describes Choosing Hope as a “beautiful portrait of the power of hope and love in the healing of a person, a community and a country.”
