INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 11, 2016) The Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N) men's volleyball team is going dancing for the second time in as many years. The Scarlet Raiders earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III Championship and will take on fifth-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology in the National Quarterfinals Friday, April 22 at 3 p.m. in Rochester.

RU-N earned the berth to the tournament thanks to an exceptional 23-2 regular season and an appearance in the Continental Volleyball Conference title game. RU-N will bring a record of 24-3 into the national tournament, taking on the 2015 defending national champs and the tournament's fifth seed.

Stevens received an at-large berth to the tournament after falling to No. 1 and the NCAA Tournament's No. 1 overall seed SUNY New Paltz in the United Volleyball Conference title game.

Stevenson University - who earned the CVC's automatic berth to the tournament - will play third-seeded Carthage College in another quarterfinal.

Geographic rival Kean University and Endicott College will battle in one of two opening round contests on April 16. The winner of that match takes on second-seeded Springfield College in the quarterfinals, with Wentworth Institute of Technology and Hunter College meeting for the right to take on New Paltz in the quarters.

RU-N and Stevens met in mid-January and the Scarlet Raiders knocked off the then-No. 2 Ducks, 3-0.  R-N won 25-21, 25-22 and 25-22 getting 12 kills from junior outside Jack Fredricks in the match.
