Discover your college path, learn how you can become a community partner or further explore your state university. Rutgers Day in Newark takes place on Saturday, April 27, from 10am-4pm in the Norman Samuels Plaza, with vendors located in the New Street Plaza. The campus community, Newark residents, and the general public are all invited to this free, family-friendly event that showcases the many offerings at Rutgers University-Newark. This is a fun opportunity to become familiar with the great research, innovation and civic engagement happening in and around campus. There will be hands-on learning activities, performances, exhibits, demonstrations, giveaways and lots more activities for all ages. Rutgers Day-Newark, held simultaneously university-wide with Rutgers-New Brunswick and Rutgers-Camden, is the largest outreach ‘show and tell’ or open house hosted by the university.

In addition to the festival on Samuels Plaza, Express Newark will be the site of NJ Pac & Jazz House Kids Jazz Festival and Newark Culture Con (NCC.) NCC will feature traditional comic con staples, including cosplay, vendors, and panel discussions, but with an emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and representation in the arts, especially in the comic book/fantasy industry. New this year: celebrity guests JW Cortes of Fox's "Gotham," and Carl Burnett and William J. Regan of B.E.R., featured in Cartoon Network's "Teen Titans Go!" Also, there will be on-site gaming from Barcade and Barnes & Noble of Newark and an Apple illustrator workshop plus live dance and music performances, 3D printing, green screen photos, and free giveaways. This year's signature partner is the Newark Latino Film Festival.
