Rutgers Day 2018
Several campus locations including Norman Samuels Plaza and Express Newark
It’s that time again to roll out the scarlet carpet. Rutgers Day in Newark takes place on Saturday, April 28, from 10am-4pm in the Norman Samuels Plaza, with vendors located in the New Street Plaza. The campus community, Newark residents and the general public are all invited to this free, family-friendly event that showcases the many offerings at Rutgers University-Newark. This is a fun opportunity to become familiar with the great research, innovation and civic engagement happening in and around campus. There will be hands-on learning activities, performances, exhibits, demonstrations, giveaways and lots more activities for all ages.
New this year, in conjunction with Rutgers Day, Culture Con makes its debut at Express Newark in the Hahne & Co. Building (54 Halsey Street). The event will feature traditional comic con staples, including cosplay, vendors and panel discussions, but with an emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and representation in the arts, especially in the comic book/fantasy industry.
The excitement doesn’t end there. Alumni Weekend coincides with Rutgers Day during the last weekend in April. In addition, Rutgers Day events are happening simultaneously at Rutgers-New Brunswick and Rutgers-Camden. Make sure to use #RutgersDayNewark and tag @Rutgers_Newark when posting on social media. Don’t miss it!
