In conjunction with the current exhibit This Music We Call Jazz: The Latin Connection, the Jewish Museum of New Jersey at Congregation Ahavas Sholom presents Tengo un Sueno: Dr. King and the Latino-American Dream, a free panel discussion that examines the influence of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the African-American civil rights movement on the struggle for equality in the Hispanic/Latino community.

The discussion revisits the historic collaborations among African Americans, Jews and Latinos in the pursuit of civil rights, past and present, and features musical interludes. Professor Will Guzman, Director of the Lee Hagan Africana Studies Center at New Jersey City University, moderates a panel that includes speakers Jennifer Caroccio of Rutgers University, artist Ben Jones and NJCU.

Community partners are NJPAC, WBG0 Jazz88.3, FOCUS Hispanic Center for Community Development, Inc., and La Casa de Don Pedro.
