In 1994, I found myself completely lost, not knowing what path to follow in my professional life. I scheduled an interview with a Rutgers-Newark professor who, in 45 minutes, completely changed my life. By the time I left her office, she had become not only the advisor that I had sought, but also a friend and mentor for the years to come. With her guidance and support, I successfully mixed my academic life with hands-on experience acquired through internships throughout the state. Rutgers-Newark will always be a source of fond memories in my life -- the experiences, the course work and the connections established during that time have ensured the success that I have enjoyed in my professional life.
After graduating Rutgers-Newark, I joined the marketing team of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. In 1999, I moved to Oklahoma to take the position of Director of Marketing for the Tulsa Opera and, in 2002, I became Marketing Director for the Columbus Symphony in Ohio. Throughout my time spent away from New Jersey and Rutgers, I always knew that I would eventually return and be once again connected with this wonderful institution. This past July, after five years away from New Jersey, I was offered the opportunity to reconnect by becoming the Vice President of Marketing and Audience Development for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. I am thrilled to once again be involved with the Newark community and especially with Rutgers, which has done so much to shape and prepare me for life.
