Anushree Karnik, Class of 2006, Psychology

After being accepted by both Rutgers-New Brunswick and Rutgers-Newark, I debated over which campus to attend. When I visited the Newark campus, it seemed very welcoming and homey. It seemed as if everything I would ever need while I was on campus could be found within walking distance. Sure enough, these thoughts were confirmed when I started attending Rutgers-Newark.

The small community of Rutgers-Newark, which proves to be one big family, offers a lot of opportunities to face the “real-world.” Initially when I looked at the global curriculum, I was rather unhappy about some of the classes I would have to take. But I discovered that this curriculum has allowed me to explore a range of different opportunities.

In addition, professors at Rutgers-Newark are always helpful when it comes to looking for an internship or research position. Now, after four years, I know that any career decision that I make will be well-informed.

Furthermore, I have evolved as a person, thanks to experiencing so much cultural diversification. This has helped me to develop a perspective towards professional goals as well as social relationships. Whether you are looking for complex cultural enrichment or simply sports, you will find it at Rutgers-Newark.

Rutgers-Newark is one place where you can take your dreams and turn them into reality.
