Center for Justice and Mental Health Research
The Center for Justice and Mental Health Research examines individuals within correctional populations who are in need of medical, psychiatric and substance-abuse treatment with the goal of identifying critical needs and points of intervention, and to test treatment effectiveness of service

Center for the Study of Public Security
The center studies the causes of terrorism, ways to fight it, and how to cope with its consequences. The center also initiates ongoing training and outreach programs in collaboration with academic, professional, corporate and government agencies.

Division of Global Affairs
is working to study the causes—and consequences – of the globalization of worldwide communications, economic activity and culture, through graduate studies, research, and broader outreach such as seminars and workshops.

E-Governance Institute
The E-governance Institute explores the impact of the Internet and other information technologies on the productivity and performance of the public sector, and how e-government can foster new and deeper citizen involvement within the governing process.

Institute on Education Law and Policy
is New Jersey's premier center for interdisciplinary research and innovative thinking on education policy.

National Center for Public Productivity
The NCPP is a research and public service organization devoted to improving productivity in the public sector.

Rutgers Institute on Corruption Studies (RICS)
RICS conducts research on public corruption and devises ways to reduce it.

Science, Technology, & Health

Center for Information Management, Integration and Connectivity
(CIMIC) explores technology, science and business disciplines to develop new knowledge with practical applications for information technology, the environmental sciences, business and management, public policy, the law and health.

Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience
(CMBN) is involved in research ranging from the molecular to the behavioral, with practical applications in areas such as learning disabilities, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s, and memory disorders.

Rutgers Nursing Center for Bioterrorism and Emerging Infectious Diseases Preparedness
The Center serves as a primary source of education, research and information for nurses and all allied health personnel on practice matters regarding biological, nuclear and chemical terrorism, as well as emerging infectious diseases.

New Jersey Collaborating Center for Nursing
The center is a future-oriented research and development organization that will develop and disseminate objective information and provide an ongoing strategy for the allocation of State resources directed towards the nursing work force.

The University Heights Center for Advanced Imaging
A joint venture of Rutgers and the University of Medicine and Dentistry-NJ, the center houses a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scanner that provides detailed pictures of specific areas of brain activity, enabling R-N and UMDNJ researchers to significantly advance neurological research, and better understand and develop potential treatments for brain injury and for neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's, and autism.

Center for the Study of Genocide and Human Rights
promotes greater education about extreme human rights violations -- which have resulted in mass death, suffering, dislocation, trauma, and social destruction -- through cutting-edge research and scholarship, educational initiatives, workshops and seminars, outreach and commemorative programs, and international collaborations related to genocide and human rights.

Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies
conducts scholarly research into urban problems and issues, at all levels from local through international. The center sponsors conferences and public programs about public policy issues in New Jersey.

Institute on Ethnicity, Culture and the Modern Experience
The Institute is an interdisciplinary academic program for the study of ethnicity, race, and culture in modern life, promoting faculty research, collegial discussion, and scholarly service to the public.

Institute of Jazz Studies
The Institute of Jazz Studies is the largest and most comprehensive library and archive of jazz and jazz-related materials in the world.

Camoes Institute Center for Portuguese Language and Culture
The Camoes Institute Center is a resource center for students of Portuguese literature, history and culture, and also serves as the Northeastern hub for the administration of the PLE (Portugues Lingua Estrangeira) exams.

Documentation Center of Cambodia
An archive of primary Khmer Rouge documents in digital and microfiche form -- papers, photographs, films and other materials -- that is available to researchers and students at R-N and throughout the Western Hemisphere. DCCt provides a record of the Khmer Rouge-orchestrated genocide from 1975-1979 that claimed almost 2 million Cambodians.

Abbott Leadership Institute
The goal of the Institute is to engage parents and community people as partners with education professionals in the education of the children in the public schools in Newark.
