Rutgers-Newark Students to Receive Scholarships from NJ Society of Information Management Foundation

The New Jersey Society of Information Management Foundation has announced two Rutgers University students as scholarship recipients.

WHAT: NJ SIM Foundation, established by the SIM NJ Chapter, a professional organization for senior IT leaders in the state, awards two annual college scholarships, of $5,000 each, to students demonstrating financial need and excellence in computer science studies.

WHO:  Scholarship recipients this year are:

Daniel Brown of Newark, New Jersey, currently a junior at the Rutgers-Newark College of Arts and Sciences, where he is a double major in computer science and mathematics.  Brown is a graduate of St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, works part time at TD Bank, and is an active member of the Rutgers-Newark West Indian Student Association.

Guillermo Padron of Elizabeth, New Jersey, currently a sophomore at Rutgers Newark College of Arts and Sciences, with plans to major in mathematics. Padron is a graduate of Elizabeth High School.  He is active serving his community by supervising, supporting and aiding the children in the Don Bosco’s Youth Center in Elizabeth.

WHERE:  The Scholarship awards presentation will take place during the NJ SIM Foundation annual charity golf outing and dinner, Neshanic Valley Golf Course, Branchburg, NJ.

WHEN: Monday, May 23, 7 pm
