This event is open to the media.

On Saturday, July 30, 2016, Rutgers University-Newark’s Office of University-Community Partnerships, Gerber Products Company (a Nestlé Company), and Program for Parents, Inc., will recognize more than 100 families from Newark, primarily the Newark Fairmount Promise Neighborhood, for their completion of the Start Healthy, Stay HealthyTM Early Childhood Nutrition Education Program. The Start Healthy, Stay HealthyTM Early Childhood Nutrition Education Program, launched in 2014, provides an unbranded research-based, peer-reviewed curriculum on nutrition and healthy eating habits and offers training for families to learn about the importance of early childhood nutrition. The families also learn how to be advocates within their communities to keep themselves and their neighbors continuously engaged and informed.

The celebration will be held at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark will include recognition, words of inspiration, giveaways and fun activities for children.
