First generation students in the spotlight
Rutgers University-Newark is home to hundreds of students who are first-generation Americans, as well as scores of students who are the first in their families to earn a college degree. Their challenges and successes echo those of the thousands of RU-N alumni who have attended Rutgers in Newark since the early 20th century, including some of New Jersey's most prominent achievers in education, healthcare, law and business.
