Rutgers University-Newark’s Alumni Weekend will be Saturday, April 18, 2015. Alumni and friends are invited to discover, celebrate, and socialize at an array of exciting events. Now is the time to reserve seats at the brunch or on a tour. For full event details, visit Ralumni.com/NewarkAW2015. Here’s a sampling of what’s happening:

Soak Up Culture
Alumni will be dazzled by images of Nigerian monarchs at The Newark Museum tour of George Osodi’s striking photographs. After the tour, discuss the photos and socialize with other culture vultures at a dessert reception in historic Ballantine House.

Celebrate
Share college remembrances with classmates and learn what class of 1965 speaker David H. Barrett did with his mathematics degree (hint: think space shuttle). Hear from Chancellor Nancy Cantor and find out why the RU-Newark strategic plan is raising pulses.  Enjoy the final brunch performance by the Rutgers University-Newark Chorus under the baton of retiring conductor John Floreen. Special recognition will be given to the classes of 1965 and 1990 with a celebratory toast and pinning ceremony. For those who graduated in 1990 or earlier, it’s not too late to be pinned and inducted into the Golden or Silver Raider Society.

Newark Rising
Sit back and relax after the brunch with a bus tour of downtown Newark led by economic and community development expert Roland Anglin, director of the Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies at Rutgers. See first-hand the redevelopment activities related to RU-Newark’s strategic plan! Joining Dr. Anglin will be RBS Department of Management and Global Business faculty Arturo E. Osorio, and Jose Alves, dean of the Faculty of Administration and Leadership, University of Saint Joseph, Macao, China.

Starpower
Anyone who hasn’t visited Rutgers Business School in a few years is in for lots of surprises on the guided tour of One Washington Park, RBS-Newark’s location since 2009. After the tour, network with other alumni at a reception and meet RBS’s new dean, Dr. Lei Lei, and RBS faculty.

A Trifecta of Activities
Attend the brunch, followed by either the bus or museum tour, then finish up Alumni Weekend with the tour and reception at the business school.

So don’t delay – register today at Ralumni.com/NewarkAW2015.

Alumni are urged to share photos from their college days by posting them on social media with the hashtag #RUAlumniWeekend!
