The Anthrax Letters: A Bioterrorism Expert Investigates the Attack That Schocked America

Leonard Cole's The Anthrax Letters: A Bioterrorism Expert Investigates the Attack That Schocked America (2009) continues his series of analyses and investigations into bioterrorism and the events and threats of recent decades. Cole, an adjunct professor of political science, is a respected expert on bioterrorism and terror medicine who has shared his knowledge in testimony before congressional committees and has been invited to make presentations to government agencies including the U.S. Department of Defense and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Anthrax Letters is an updated and expanded re-publication of his 2003 The Anthrax Letters: A Medical Detective Story. Cole's book raises compelling questions about who sent the letters, their motives, and what the U.S. is doing - and can do - to prevent further attacks. His other books include Terror: How Israel Has Coped and What America Can Learn, The Eleventh Plague: The Politics of Biological and Chemical Warfare, and Element of Risk: The Politics of Radon.
