The John Cotton Dana Library proudly announces the award of a Muslim Journeys Bookshelf through the Bridging Cultures program of the American Library Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The celebration includes a talk, "Why Can't We All Get Along? : On the Question of Being Muslim in America," by featured speaker, Zain Abdullah, PhD. Dr. Abdullah is the author of BLACK MECCA: THE AFRICAN MUSLIMS OF HARLEM, published by Oxford University Press in 2010. He holds a doctorate in cultural anthropology and is Associate Professor in the Religion Department at Temple University, where he is also a faculty affiliate in the Department of Geography and Urban Studies.
