GlassBook Project: Brick by Brick, The Ironbound Oral History Collection
3rd floor, Window Gallery, Hahne's Building, 54 Halsey St., Newark
Created by Artists-in-Residence Paula Neves and Adrienne Wheeler in collaboration with students in the Honors Living and Learning Community, this exhibition of artists’ books made of glass was inspired by the Oral History of the Ironbound Project archive, which was founded by Dr. Kimberly DaCosta Holton in 2000. This project was created in partnership with Tim Raphael and the Newest Americans Project, and the Center for Migration and the Global City at Rutgers University-Newark. The books were produced at GlassRoots, Newark NJ. The GlassBook Project is a socially engaged artwork by artist Nick Kline, a collaborative project that has been ongoing since 2009.
