Community Involvement at Rutgers-Newark

Rutgers-Newark students, faculty and staff have a history of engagement with the campus's home city that is as old as the campus. In 2007, for the first time, the university formally recognized that town/gown commitment when Chancellor Steven Diner presented the inaugural annual Chancellor's Awards for Community Engagement.

Chancellor's Community Engagement Award: Call for Nominations

This fall, we will again recognize those who have contributed so much to our engagement with Newark and the region. Please submit all nominations (electronically if possible) to the Office of the Chancellor no later than Friday, October 16, 2009 to the attention of Janice Friedland jafried@newark.rutgers.edu.

Below are some of the ways we act as good neighbors to the people and institutions of Newark.
