Have You Met Rutgers-Newark?
Attached to Woodward Hall, the 225-seat cafeteria is the main residential dining hall on campus, and is open to any student with a meal plan. An atrium ceiling and expansive glass overhead create an airy, bright atmosphere. Stonsby Commons doubles as a meeting area, complete with projection screen, and hosts movie nights and video-game tournaments.
Stonsby Commons honors the first dean of the Rutgers College of Nursing (CON), Ella V. Stonsby, who joined the faculty of the Newark College of Arts and Sciences in 1946. Six years later, Stonsby established the Division of Nursing Education, which evolved into the CON in 1956. CON was the 15th college to be established as an independent unit of Rutgers.
