Have You Met Rutgers-Newark?
Back in 2000-2001, the section of New Street between University Avenue and Washington Street was permanently closed to cars, and permanently opened to people, grass, trees and flowers. Since then, New Street Plaza has been an oasis of green between the Center for Law and Justice and Engelhard Hall on the southern side, and Ackerson Hall and what is now the Center for Urban and Public Service on the northern side. Its benches and greenery provide a respite from the hustle of campus life.
